This page completes our guide to the evil eye meaning. Search for evil eye colours and you’ll find neat charts: one colour for calm, another for success, another for love. We tried to find where they come from.
The claim: “Each evil eye colour has its own meaning”
The traditional Turkish bead is blue: dark blue, light blue and white circles, sometimes with a black centre. Blue is associated with sky and water, believed protective in many cultures (Dem Turkish Center). Colour-by-colour meanings, on the other hand, appear mostly in jewelry guides (example). In the sources we checked, we found no historical basis for them.
Verdict: ⚪ Still investigating — the blue bead is traditional; the colour charts have no source we could find. If you know one, tell us.
What that means for a multicoloured charm
Our own evil eye pendant is multicoloured. We chose it because it looks good, not because each colour does something. We won’t give you a chart we can’t source.
