What is green sandalwood?
“Green sandalwood” is a trade name. The wood sold under it is usually verawood (Bulnesia sarmientoi), a dense, fragrant South American hardwood with olive-green to brown heartwood. Despite the name, it is not related to true sandalwood (Santalum album), which is pale yellow-brown. We are confirming the exact species with our supplier and will update this page when we have it. What does it look and feel like?
Olive green with darker streaks, and no two beads alike. Verawood tends to darken with age and exposure to light. It is a heavy, oily wood with a smooth surface and a light natural scent.
Which size should I choose?
Three versions, all with plain round beads on an elastic cord:
- 15 mm beads: 15 beads
- 18 mm beads: 13 beads
- 20 mm beads: 12 beads

Is there a symbol or meaning?
No. The beads are plain, with no carving. We don’t attach spiritual or healing claims to this bracelet: it is a wood bracelet, chosen for its colour, weight and scent.
How do I care for it?
Take it off before showering or swimming, and roll it on and off rather than stretching the cord over your hand. Wipe it with a dry cloth.
