What is carved on the beads?

Large Chinese characters, one per bead face. Chinese writes the Om Mani Padme Hum mantra as 唵嘛呢叭咪吽, and on the close-up photos we can read 叭, 咪 and 吽, and very likely 唵: four of the six characters. The other two weren’t visible on the photos we checked. Details in our Om Mani Padme Hum guide.

Is it Tibetan?

No. The mantra is Buddhist, but it is written here in Chinese characters, not in Tibetan script.

What is it made of?

Ebony, according to our supplier. We are confirming the species and will update this page when we have it.

Which size should I choose?

How do I care for it?

Take it off before showering or swimming, and roll it on and off rather than stretching the cord over your hand. Wipe it with a dry cloth.
