What wood is it?

According to our supplier, the beads come from the stem of Bauhinia championii, an evergreen woody vine of the pea family. It was previously sold here as “rosewood”, which it isn’t: rosewood is a trade name for other trees. We are confirming the species with our supplier. More in our wood guide.

What does it look like?

A strongly contrasted grain, pale and dark brown, different on every bead. The bracelet is finished with two gourd-shaped beads, a traditional Chinese motif of longevity and protection, and a wood-slice pendant. The beads themselves are plain, with no carving.

Which size should I choose?

How do I care for it?

Take it off before showering or swimming, and roll it on and off rather than stretching the cord over your hand. Wipe it with a dry cloth.
