What is carved on the beads?
Each bead carries round medallions enclosing a single stylized Chinese character, framed by a petal motif. This is a Chinese decorative style, not Tibetan script. The character looks like cursive calligraphy, and we haven’t been able to read it reliably yet. The full check is in our Verified or Vibes? episode 1.
Is it Buddhist or Tibetan?
Not as far as we can verify. Single-character medallions belong to Chinese decorative art, which runs largely independently of Buddhism.
What is it made of?
Our supplier describes the wood as Phoebe (nanmu), a light wood with a density of about 0.61 g/cm³. We are confirming the species and will update this page when we have it.
Which size should I choose?
15 mm beads: 15 beads. 18 mm beads: 13 beads. By our calculation, both have an inside circle of about 18 cm, a comfortable fit for a wrist of around 16 to 16.5 cm. [À COMPLÉTER : nombre de perles en 8 et 20 mm.] More in our bead size guide.
How do I care for it?
Take it off before showering or swimming, and roll it on and off rather than stretching the cord over your hand. Wipe it with a dry cloth.
