From the workshop

Let me say it straight away: this isn't jade. It's sold as “Malaysia jade”, but that's a trade name. It's actually chalcedony, a variety of quartz, dyed to get this deep green.

Dyed, yes. That's not a flaw, as long as you know it. The green is even and bright, and the stone stays tough: 7 on the Mohs scale, like any quartz.

The dye does ask for a little care. No ultrasonic or steam cleaners, no strong heat. A little warm soapy water, a soft cloth, and dry it well.

Green is traditionally associated with the heart and with harmony.
The jade name is just a sellers' habit.
Here, we say what it is.
